David Morton

Partner

You might know David Morton, son of the iconic Arnie Morton, of Mortons’ Steakhouse, from the Chicago restaurant scene. As the co-founder of DMK Restaurants, he’s been a driving force behind some of the company’s most well-known and acclaimed restaurants: DMK Burger Bar, Fish Bar, Ada St., County Barbecue, Henry’s and Rec Room. He grew up in the restaurant business too – throughout his childhood, he witnessed firsthand the conceptualization and development of some of America’s greatest restaurant brands, including Morton’s of Chicago and the Hard Rock Café. David is a trusted industry leader and is sure to help get your Franchise Burger Restaurant humming.

Chef Michael Kornick

Co-Founder, Partner, and Chef

Chef Kornick is a five-time James Beard Award nominee and he has developed into one of the country’s leading restaurateurs. Chef Kornick knew that he wanted to be a chef at a young age and after high school, he went straight into culinary school. He began working in casual, fine-dining restaurants and worked his way up to Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston. In 1998, he opened his first restaurant called “MK.” Since that time, Chef Kornick has opened multiple restaurants and before partnering with David Morton in 2008 and opening their first DMK Burger Bar in 2009.  Highly sought after, as an authority figure on restaurant management and hospitality, Chef Kornick is known as a generous mentor to all of those who have worked under him – past and present.

David Grossman

Partner

Franchise expert extraordinaire, David Grossman has helped lead the charge in franchising for such well-known restaurants as Freshii and Subway. Grossman helped open over 120 Subway locations all across the Chicago area from 1989 – 1996. In 2008, Grossman bought the rights to Freshii and then proceeded to open 40 locations in Chicago, as well. Partnering with DMK, in 2016, Grossman convinced David Morton and Chef Michael Kornick to get into the world of restaurant franchising. After several meetings and conversations, everybody was on the same page and decided that franchising was the best way to grow DMK Burger Bar. Today, Grossman helps ensure our Franchise Partners have all of the tools necessary in order to build their own successful enterprise.
